Synopsis of Orange Is the New Black
Piper Chapman is a 33-year-old New Yorker who leads a stable, orderly life, far from the past she thought she had left behind. That past returns when the law arrests her for a crime committed almost a decade earlier: transporting drug money for Alex Vause, her former girlfriend and an international drug trafficker. Piper is sentenced to fifteen months at Litchfield, a minimum-security federal women's prison in northern New York State. There, she must adapt to a community governed by unwritten rules, rival groups and a routine unlike anything she knew. The series, created by Jenji Kohan for Netflix and starring Taylor Schilling, follows Piper as she tries to survive confinement without fully losing who she is.
