Synopsis of Wentworth
Wentworth is an Australian drama series set in the present day. It follows Bea Smith, played by Danielle Cormack, a woman who arrives at the Wentworth prison awaiting trial, accused of trying to kill her husband. Far from her daughter, she lives in an uncertain limbo that will last until sentencing, and she has to learn how life works behind bars. Around her, inmates, prison officers and lawyers face their own problems every day inside the detention center. Created by Lara Radulovich and aired on SoHo, the series revisits the world of Prisoner, the Australian production that aired between 1979 and 1986. The first episode sets up the clash between a newcomer who doesn't know the prison rules and an environment where every gesture counts.
