Synopsis of Sneaky Pete

Marius Josipović, played by Giovanni Ribisi, is a con artist just out of prison who knows the violent gangster he once robbed is still after him. With nowhere else to turn, he decides to hide from his past by taking on the identity of Pete Murphy, his cellmate. Under that borrowed name, he reconnects with Pete's family, who have been estranged for years, and none of them have any reason to suspect he isn't who he claims to be. The American crime drama series was created by David Shore and Bryan Cranston and streams on Prime Video. Marius wants to erase what he was and start over, but every lie he maintains brings him closer to the danger of being discovered by those hunting him and by those who have taken him in.

Trivia about Sneaky Pete

The series' opening theme is "Harder Out Here," composed and performed by The Bright Light Social Hour, at the request of Bryan Cranston.

In May 2015, CBS passed on the pilot and, in the same decision, canceled another David Shore series, Battle Creek.

In June 2015, it was reported that Amazon was negotiating to acquire the pilot, which needed some adjustments and possible minor reshoots.

Margo Martindale was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the 2017 Television Critics Association Awards for her performance.

Bryan Cranston didn't plan to play Vince for the entire series: the decision came up when the pilot's ending was reshot, after his appearance was left open-ended.

Amazon brought in Graham Yost as showrunner to replace David Shore and turned the project from a procedural planned for CBS into a serialized story of ten episodes per season.

Bryan Cranston and Giovanni Ribisi had already worked together on Saving Private Ryan and That Thing You Do! before playing Vince and Marius.

Amazon canceled Sneaky Pete in June 2019, after three seasons, so there will be no fourth season.
