Allison DuBois is a wife and mother of three daughters, and works as an assistant district attorney in Phoenix. From the first episode, she reveals to viewers that she has uncommon powers: she talks to the dead, predicts the future and reads other people's minds. When she explains this to her husband, Joe, an aeronautical engineer, he decides to believe her, because he has just dreamed about a real crime. Allison's visions are often highly symbolic, and it takes her time to understand what they mean. Meanwhile, the couple tries to balance the demands of work with those of family, and the mother's gift begins to surface in their daughters as well. Created by Glenn Gordon Caron, the series aired on NBC and later on CBS, and Patricia Arquette stars as the lead.
