Synopsis of My Wife and Kids
In Stamford, Connecticut, an upper-middle-class African American family is led by Michael Kyle Sr., owner of a trucking company he manages himself. Michael is convinced he's the one calling the shots at home, though the rest of the family doesn't seem to share that view. His wife Janet makes a living as a door-to-door saleswoman, his son Michael Jr. is a fan of gangsta rap, and his daughters, Claire and little Kady, have plans of their own. Every day, his family reminds him that his dream of a quiet, traditional life is nothing more than a fantasy. The comedy, created by Damon Wayans and Don Reo and airing on ABC, is built on the gap between what Michael wants and what he has.
