Synopsis of Step by Step
In Port Washington, Wisconsin, Frank Lambert is a divorced contractor with three children, and Carol Foster is a widowed hairstylist who also has three. After a whirlwind romance, Frank decides to marry her in Jamaica, where they are both on vacation. Back home, the newlyweds have to tell their children what happened. To live together, they choose the Fosters' house, the larger of the two, hoping to bring together two families with very different customs and parenting styles. Living together is not easy, since none of the six kids welcomes the new family unit. The series was created by William Bickley and Michael Warren, aired on ABC, and stars Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers.
