Synopsis of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch

Sabrina Spellman is a 16-year-old student who lives in Westbridge, on the outskirts of Boston, Massachusetts, in a Victorian-style house. She shares her daily life with her aunts Hilda and Zelda and with Salem, a talking cat. Sabrina wants what she's always wanted: to go to school, hang out with her friends at the pizzeria, and live a life free of surprises. Everything goes off track on her sixteenth birthday, when she discovers that she comes from a family of witches and that she is half witch, half mortal. Her spells, however, rarely turn out as they should, and she has to learn to master her magic while trying to keep her everyday life on track. The comedy was created by Nell Scovell, aired on ABC, and stars Melissa Joan Hart.

Trivia about Sabrina, the Teenage Witch

The opening theme for the first three seasons is an instrumental pop track composed by Danny Lux, in which Sabrina poses in front of a mirror wearing four different outfits.
Although the series is set in Westbridge and later in Boston, most of the production was shot at the Paramount Pictures studios in Los Angeles.
From the outside, the Spellman house is a Victorian mansion in Freehold, New Jersey, used only for exterior shots.
After ABC canceled the series, The WB picked it up in 2000 and aired its final three seasons.
The album featuring the show's music, which included songs by the Spice Girls, the Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears, was certified Gold in the United States and has sold more than 700,000 copies worldwide.
In Spain, the series aired on Antena 3 from 1997 under the title Sabrina, Cosas de Brujas, and the pay channel Comedy Central reran it in full during the summer of 2024.
Melissa Joan Hart didn't have to audition for the role of Sabrina: the part was written for her after her mother's production company acquired the rights to the Archie Comics character.
During its four seasons on ABC, the series was the most-watched show in the network's TGIF lineup.
