Synopsis of Tiny Toon Adventures

Tiny Toon Adventures is an American animated series created by Tom Ruegger. Its characters live in Acme Town, a fictional town where most of the Tiny Toons and Looney Tunes live. There, a group of young cartoon characters attends Acme Looniversity, a school founded to teach them how to make people laugh. Each student is the protégé of one of the classic Looney Tunes and resembles them in looks and name. They include Buster Bunny; Elmyra Duff, a girl passionate about animals; Dizzy, a Tasmanian devil who looks for parties to crash; and Shirley McLoon, a waterfowl who can read minds. Their goal is to learn the craft of comedy from the teachers who made their mentors famous.

Trivia about Tiny Toon Adventures

The series was originally called Tiny Tunes and grew out of an idea from Terry Semel, then chairman of Warner Bros., who wanted to revitalize the studio's animation department.
Due to budget constraints, most of the animation was not done at Warner Bros. but was outsourced to studios in Japan, South Korea, Canada, Taiwan and Chicago.
Each episode used 25,000 animation cels, compared with the usual 10,000 for television, allowing smoother movement than other series.
The first episode, "The Looney Beginning," earned a 6.9 Nielsen rating, with 11.9 million viewers and a 13% audience share.
Charlie Adler was chosen to voice Buster Bunny during the first two seasons for the energy he brought to the character.
Despite the series' creative freedom, Steven Spielberg did not allow Montana Max and other characters to use pistols or rifles.
The episode "Buster and Babs Go to Hawaii" from the second season was written by three fans of the show who were in eighth grade at the time.
"Tiny Toon Adventures" won seven Daytime Emmy Awards, plus a Young Artist Award and an Environmental Media Award during its original run.
