Synopsis of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Sabrina Spellman is a young half-mortal, half-witch living in Greendale, a fictional town. As she tries to lead as normal a life as possible among her high school classmates, she must accept both sides of her nature and decide what role she wants to play in the world of magic. Her situation grows more complicated when dark forces begin to threaten her, her family, and the human world, which is unaware of anything supernatural. Sabrina will have to learn to use her powers to defend what she cares about. Created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the series streams on Netflix and stars Kiernan Shipka as the title character in this dark take on the journey into adulthood.

Trivia about Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

The series drew inspiration from slow-burn horror films such as The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby, shot in the 1960s and 1970s.

The Christmas special was shot as the twelfth episode but aired as the eleventh, because the idea came up after the first episode of the second part was already too far along to change the schedule.

In November 2018, activists from the Satanic Temple sued the production team over the use of the Baphomet statue, which they claimed was a direct copy of theirs.

The first part earned a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an average score of 7.77/10 based on 103 reviews.

The soundtrack for the first season was released on 180-gram vinyl in 2020 by Waxwork Records, in a triple LP format.

It was announced in October 2021 that Kiernan Shipka would reprise her role as Sabrina in the sixth season of Riverdale.

Netflix canceled the series in July 2020 after two seasons split into four parts, and confirmed that the eight episodes of the fourth part would be the last.

Before landing at Netflix, the project was developed for The CW as a spin-off of Riverdale, but it was later moved to Netflix with an initial order of 20 episodes.
