Synopsis of The Fall of the House of Usher

Roderick Usher runs Fortunato Pharmaceuticals, a drug company with a dark past, and his life begins to unravel when a series of mysterious events strikes his family. On a night in 2023, he invites C. Auguste Dupin, a U.S. deputy attorney determined to expose the company's corruption, to his childhood home. Roderick wants to tell him the true story of the Ushers. The series unfolds that account across two timelines: from 1953 to 1980, covering Roderick's youth with his twin sister Madeline and their rise to power, and the two weeks leading up to that conversation, in which the Ushers try to confront what is happening. Frank Langella was fired from the series in April 2022 following an investigation into misconduct, and Bruce Greenwood took over the role at the end of that month.

The first two episodes premiered at Fantastic Fest in September 2023, preceded by a screening at Towson University, Flanagan's alma mater.

Its first week on Netflix drew 6 million views, making it the most-watched English-language scripted series on the platform, and the following week it reached 7.9 million.
