Synopsis of Good Girls

Beth, Ruby, and Annie are three moms from the Michigan suburbs who struggle to make ends meet. Beth and Annie are sisters, and Ruby is Beth's best friend. Tired of life taking everything they have, they plan a heist that seems impossible: robbing the supermarket in their neighborhood. What they expected to be a simple job turns out to be much more complicated than planned. After the robbery, the store manager recognizes Annie and sets his sights on them, while the leader of a gang, Rio, uses the store as a front to store and launder counterfeit money. The series, created by Jenna Bans, airs on NBC and stars Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman.

Trivia about Good Girls

Kathleen Rose Perkins was cast as Beth in the pilot but left the project. Christina Hendricks replaced her after her casting was announced on July 10, 2017.

The first season was shot at Third Rail Studios in Doraville, Georgia. For the second season, production moved to Los Angeles to take advantage of California's tax incentives.

NBC renewed the series for a third season of 16 episodes, but the COVID-19 pandemic cut it to 11. The series' production history records this.

In May 2021, NBC proposed a shorter fifth season if the main cast accepted salary cuts. Hendricks, Whitman, and Retta agreed, but Manny Montana did not.

NBC canceled the series on June 25, 2021, and Netflix later declined to continue it with a final fifth season.

The fifth season was planned as an eight-episode final run, but NBC and Universal Television could not reach a financial agreement to produce it.
