Synopsis of Teen Titans

Robin, Cyborg, Raven, Starfire and Beast Boy form a team of teen superheroes who live in the Titans Tower, a T-shaped building. Their home is in Jump City, a coastal American city reminiscent of San Francisco. From there they fight crime while dealing with the everyday problems of adolescence. In the beginning, the team is still getting to know one another and faces Slade, a mysterious villain who wants to make Robin his apprentice. Glen Murakami created the series, which aired on Cartoon Network and Kids' WB. Greg Cipes, Scott Menville and Khary Payton voice several of the main characters, while Ron Perlman voices Slade.

Trivia about Teen Titans

During its run, the series was nominated for three Annie Awards and one Motion Picture Sound Editors award.

The theme song exists in English and Japanese versions. It was composed by Andy Sturmer and performed by the Japanese group Puffy AmiYumi.

David Slack received various explanations for the non-renewal: a ratings drop after the fourth season, or that Mattel wanted to end the series because Bandai held the toy contract.

One of its directors, Ciro Nieli, later created Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, a superhero action series that premiered on Jetix in 2004.

In 2019, the crossover Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans arrived, marking the first appearance of the original series' characters in 13 years.

In 2009, IGN ranked it No. 83 on its list of the best animated series.

The series was initially planned for four seasons, but Cartoon Network ordered a fifth after the popularity of the earlier seasons.

The cancellation generated conflicting accounts: Wil Wheaton blamed executives at Warner Bros. Animation, while writer Rob Hoegee said the decision came from Cartoon Network.
