Synopsis of Pokémon

Ash Ketchum is a boy from Pallet Town, in the Kanto region, who loves Pokémon and battling them. His goal is to become a Pokémon Master, the highest class of trainer, and to achieve it he sets off on a journey. On turning ten as a trainee, he receives his first Pokémon from Professor Samuel Oak, a Pikachu who will accompany him from the start. From there, the hero sets out to travel through different regions, face gym leaders and compete in leagues. The series, created by Satoshi Tajiri and aired by TV Tokyo, follows that journey and the friendship Ash forms with the people he meets along the way.

Trivia about Pokémon

China banned the series from prime-time viewing, from 17:00 to 20:00, starting September 1, 2006, just as it had done with Western animated series such as The Simpsons.
The episode "Dennō Senshi Porygon" caused more than 635 children in Japan to be hospitalized for epileptic seizures triggered by its flashing visual effects.
Pokémon has aired more than 1,300 episodes and is considered the most successful video game adaptation of all time.
IGN ranked the series at number 70 on its list of the 100 greatest animated series.
Following the September 11, 2001 attacks and Hurricane Katrina in 2005, two episodes were temporarily pulled from broadcast in the United States.
The final episode starring Ash and Pikachu aired in Japan on March 24, 2023, after 26 years on the air; the series continued with new leads in Pokémon Horizons.
Pokémon Horizons replaced Ash and Pikachu with Liko and Roy, and its first episode aired in Japan on April 14, 2023 with a one-hour special.
