Trivia about Hunter x Hunter

The 2011 adaptation is a complete reboot starting from the beginning of the manga and has no connection to the 1999 anime series.

Rather than reuse the previous cast, the new adaptation hired an entirely new lineup of voice actors for the characters.

The opening theme alternates between two versions of the song "Departure!", both performed by Masatoshi Ono, while the closing theme changes several times throughout the series.

Critic Adrian Marcano of Inverse considered the 2011 series one of the greatest anime series of all time.

In 2019, Polygon included the series among the best anime of the 192010s decade, and Crunchyroll ranked it among the top 25 of that same decade.

The 2011 adaptation was produced by Madhouse, replacing Nippon Animation, and aired 148 episodes between October 2011 and September 2014 on Nippon TV.

The series ended after adapting the manga up to chapter 339, corresponding to the end of the Election arc for the thirteenth Chairman of the Hunter Association.
