Synopsis of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-

Subaru Natsuki is an unemployed young man with no degree who suddenly finds himself in a fantasy world. Right after arriving, he tries to save Emilia, a half-elf who aims to become the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugunica, but he dies before he can. Shortly after, he discovers that, after his death, he can turn back time and wake up a few hours earlier with his memories intact. Subaru decides to use this power to stand by Emilia and help her reach her goal, even though the dangers surrounding her give him no respite. The Japanese series, based on the light novels by Tappei Nagatsuki, aired in Japan on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, and AT-X.

Trivia about Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-

The series was not originally planned to have 25 episodes. It was expanded to give more time to the battle against the White Whale, which went from two episodes to three.
The team considered songs such as «Kanpaku Sengen» or «M» by Princess Princess before choosing «Yoake no Michi» by Dog of Flanders as Subaru's theme.
Director Watanabe noticed the music in the medical series Death's Organ and ended up hiring its composer, Kenichiro Suehiro.
In several episodes, such as 7 and 15, Watanabe wanted to use an entire song, which is unusual for most anime.
Watanabe has said he would have liked to use the opening and ending themes more often, but the series uses them sparingly.
The series ranked 21 among the best-selling anime home video releases in 2016, with about 68,791 units sold across Blu-ray and DVD.
It was the most-watched series on Crunchyroll in 2016, ahead of Yuri on Ice.
Season 4 of «Re:Zero» will have 19 episodes split into two parts: «The Loss Arc» premieres on April 8, 2026, and «The Recapture Arc» on August 12, 2026.
