Synopsis of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Japan no longer exists as an independent nation. Since August 10, 2010, the Holy Britannian Empire conquered it in less than a month with its combat robots, the Knightmare Frames, and renamed it Area 11. Its people have lost their rights and freedoms and live segregated in ghettos, while some underground groups continue to fight for independence. Lelouch, an exiled prince, swore as a child to destroy Britannia after his mother's murder and the harm done to his sister. Seven years later, caught up in one of the attacks shaking Area 11, he meets a mysterious young woman named C.C., with whom he makes a pact that grants him a power called Geass. The series thus tells the story of a man who wants to defeat an empire with a tool he should never have.
