NRSynopsis of The Rising of the Shield Hero
Naofumi Iwatani, a young otaku, is summoned to a parallel world, the kingdom of Melromarc, as one of the four Cardinal Heroes. His role is that of the Shield Hero. Soon after, Princess Malty S. Melromarc falsely accuses him of sexual assault, and the kingdom decides to cast him aside. Naofumi is left alone, without support or recognition, and his goal is to complete the mission entrusted to him: to stop a giant creature that devours souls and which, according to prophecy, will bring about the destruction of the world. To do so, he will have to rise from nothing and seek allies in a world that has turned its back on him. The series is an adaptation of the light novel by Aneko Yusagi, illustrated by Seira Minami, and airs on AT-X.
