Synopsis of The Quintessential Quintuplets

Fuutarou Uesugi is a second-year high school student from a family that has always struggled financially. When he takes a part-time job as a tutor, he discovers that his students are classmates: five identical quintuplet sisters. All of them are strikingly attractive, but they share one clear trait: they hate studying, and their grades are close to disaster. Fuutarou has to get all five of them to study, and to do so he must first earn their trust. The series airs on Japanese network TBS, with Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Kana Hanazawa, and Ayana Taketatsu in the main cast.

Trivia about The Quintessential Quintuplets

The series is based on the manga Go-Tōbun no Hanayome, a title listed as the source of the TV adaptation and included in its production profile.
The series' music is handled by three different composers: Natsumi Tabuchi, Hanae Nakamura, and Miki Sakurai, all credited in the production's sound team.
In May 2019, a second season was announced during a special event for the series, with Kaori replacing Satoshi Kuwabara as director and Keiichirō Ōchi returning as screenwriter.
In 2023, «五等分の花嫁∽» was announced, a two-episode special that adapted manga chapters not included in the previous seasons and aired on television in September of that year.
The spin-off movie won the Golden Gross Special Award in 2022, along with several nominations at the Newtype Anime Awards that same year.
