Trivia about Dragon Ball Z

Akira Toriyama suggested the title because Z is the last letter of the alphabet, a decision made with the intention of closing the story.

Designer Tadayoshi Yamamuro used Bruce Lee as a reference for Goku's Super Saiyan form.

Masako Nozawa, who voices Goku, Gohan and Goten, said that just seeing the character's image was enough for him to switch voices.

The premiere of the third season, in 1999, was the most-watched program in Cartoon Network history up to that point.

Dragon Ball fans set a Guinness World Record for the biggest Kamehameha attack at San Diego Comic-Con on July 17, 2019.

In 2015, Ford released two commercials starring characters from the series, one for the Ford Fusion and another for the Ford Focus.

To choose Goku's Japanese voice, producer Keizō Shichijō asked Akira Toriyama to select the actor from anonymous recordings, without showing him the names of the candidates; Toriyama chose Masako Nozawa for his mix of mischief and innocence.

Sean Schemmel initially believed he had landed the role of Captain Ginyu in the English dub, and he argued over the phone about being cast as Goku, because he didn't see the character as the main protagonist.
