Synopsis of Dragon Ball Z Kai

Dragon Ball Z Kai is a Japanese anime series produced by Toei Animation and set in Dragon World. An ancient legend speaks of the Dragon Balls, which, when all seven are gathered, summon Shenron, who can grant one wish. That power attracts increasingly evil villains who want to get their hands on them. Goku, voiced by Masako Nozawa, faces these enemies alongside his friends and family. His goal is to protect his loved ones and save the world. Fuji Television airs it in Japan, and this remastered version of Dragon Ball Z follows the manga with a faster pace.

Trivia about Dragon Ball Z Kai

Toei Animation explained that Kenji Yamamoto's score was replaced with Shunsuke Kikuchi's music from Dragon Ball Z, except for the opening and ending songs and the eyecatch music.
The premiere of Dragon Ball Z Kai on Nicktoons in May 2010 was the highest-rated overall and drew the biggest audience among tweens and boys aged 9 to 14.
The first episode of Dragon Ball Kai in Japan earned a 11.3 audience share, ahead of One Piece and behind Crayon Shin-chan.
Due to media coverage of the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami, the final episode did not air during its original broadcast and was released directly on home video.
On The CW's Toonzai block, the character Mr. Popo appeared with blue skin, perhaps the most noticeable change in the version aired in the United States.
The sequel was produced with 69 episodes, but in Japan 61 episodes aired to fit a time slot that would be taken by Dragon Ball Super.
In the Latin American Spanish dub of Kai, Goku and Bardock have different voices, something that doesn't happen in Japanese, where Masako Nozawa voices both characters.
Dragon Ball Kai was canceled in March 2011 after the Cell saga ended and was replaced by Toriko; the source attributes the decision, allegedly, to weak merchandise sales.
