Synopsis of Rurouni Kenshin
Japan, eleventh year of the Meiji era, 1878. Himura Kenshin, a former Ishin Shishi, travels the country until he reaches Tokyo. There he is attacked by Kamiya Kaoru, an instructor at a fencing school, who mistakes him for Hitokiri Battosai, an assassin from the revolutionary era. She charges at him convinced of his identity, but a man appears posing as Battosai in order to tarnish the name of Kaoru's school, which she wants to restore to its former prestige. Kenshin decides to step in and help her. He defeats the fake Battosai and, in the process, shows that he is the real former assassin. Based on the manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki, the series aired on Fuji TV.
