Trivia about Strike Back
Producer Andy Harries saw the novel at an airport during a vacation and never got around to reading it, but he still proposed the adaptation to Sky.
Former SAS and SBS soldiers trained much of the cast in weapons handling and supervised their use during filming.
The first season was shot on 35 mm film because the crew considered it the "best and most flexible capture medium" available.
The pilot episode was watched by 398,000 viewers according to preliminary ratings data, with a 1.7% share.
The premiere of Project Dawn on Cinemax drew the network's best ratings since the broadcast of Titanic in 2005.
The series won a Conch Award from the UK Screen Association for Best Audio in a TV Drama Series of the year.
After originally ending in 2015, Strike Back was revived with a new cast and returned for a sixth season before receiving one final renewal.
Cinemax announced the eighth season as the final one and set its premiere for February 14, 2020; the production titled it Strike Back: Vendetta.
