Cold Case

Cold Case is a police drama created by Meredith Stiehm and aired on CBS. Set in Philadelphia, it follows homicide detective Lilly Rush, played by Kathryn Morris, who joins a unit that revisits cold cases shelved for lack of evidence. Lilly works under the supervision of Lt. John Stillman, the veteran head of the department and her mentor, whom she turns to when an investigation stalls. Her job is to reopen files from years ago when new evidence or witnesses emerge that could clear up what other officers were unable to solve. Her blunt manner leads to tense encounters with some suspects, which can put her safety at risk. The conflict stems from the pressure to solve forgotten murders in an archive that time has left without answers.
