Ad Astra

Major Roy McBride, a military officer and astronaut, narrowly survives an incident caused by a surge of energy. Shortly afterward, the U.S. Space Command informs him that these surges have been traced to Project Lima, a mission created to search for intelligent life on the outer edges of the solar system. Roy is the son of H. Clifford McBride, the famous astronaut who led that expedition decades earlier and never returned. The news forces him to embark on a journey through space to find out what happened and how it is connected to the threat hanging over Earth. Directed by James Gray and starring Brad Pitt as Roy, the story begins on Earth and moves into the distance, the silence and the memory of his father.
