Synopsis of The OA
Prairie Johnson, a young Russian woman adopted as a child by an American couple, returns home after seven years missing. She now calls herself "OA," has strange scars on her back, and has regained her sight, which she lost before her adoption. She refuses to tell the FBI and her adoptive parents where she was or how she regained her vision. Instead, she gathers five social outcasts and trusts them with her past. Her goal is to rescue the other missing people she was with, and to do so she asks for their help, claiming she can open a portal to another dimension. Created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the series airs on Netflix, and Marling plays Prairie.
