Part I

What Season 1 of The OA

Prairie Johnson, a young Russian girl adopted as a child by an American couple, returns home after seven years missing. She now goes by OA, has scars on her back, and has regained her sight, which she had lost. She refuses to tell the FBI and her parents where she was or how she regained her vision. Instead, she gathers five outcasts, to whom she confides her past and asks for help rescuing other missing people. She claims she can open a portal to another dimension. Tensions rise around Hap and his experiments, while Homer, Scott, and Steve face their own crises. Created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij for Netflix, Marling stars as Prairie.
