Madam Secretary

Elizabeth McCord spent twenty years as a CIA analyst before becoming a political science professor at the University of Virginia. She is married to Henry, a theology professor and former Navy aviator, and they have three children. When President Conrad Dalton, her former boss at the CIA, offers her the position of Secretary of State to replace Vincent Marsh, who died in a plane crash under suspicious circumstances, Elizabeth reluctantly but determinedly accepts. From the State Department, she runs international diplomacy, takes on Washington's domestic politics and breaks protocol when necessary, all while trying to keep her family from paying the price of her new job.
