Trivia about NCIS: Los Angeles

Shane Brennan conceived the project after succeeding Donald P. Bellisario as showrunner of NCIS. He had previously created the character G. Callen for a series that never made it to production.

In April 2011, NCIS creator Donald Bellisario sued CBS over a contract that gave him the "first opportunity" to develop a spin-off or sequel.

The first episode, "Identity," drew 18.73 million viewers, with a 4.4/11 share among viewers aged 18 to 49, and won its time slot.

The series received six Teen Choice Awards, including Choice TV Actress: Action for Linda Hunt and Choice TV Actor: Action for LL Cool J.

Although it is set mostly in Los Angeles, the series was largely filmed at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, with exterior shoots across Southern California.

On January 20, 2023, CBS announced that the fourteenth season would be the last for "NCIS: Los Angeles," whose run ended with a two-part finale on May 14 and May 21, 2023.

The series reached 300 episodes at the end of its thirteenth season and averaged more than six million viewers during its fourteenth season.
