Trivia about The Spectacular Spider-Man

The character designs were simplified so that Spider-Man could move with the fluidity of the Sam Raimi trilogy.

The opening title sequence was directed by Victor Cook, and the theme song was written and performed by The Tender Box.

Plans for season three included Scorpion, Hydro-Man, and Hobgoblin as the main villains.

In September 2009, it was announced that Sony returned the Spider-Man television rights to Marvel.

Josh Keaton discovered that Disney had replaced his Peter Parker voice with that of Drake Bell after watching an episode of the series, following the production's end without official confirmation of a third season.

The series received two Annie Award nominations: one in 2009 for character design and another in 2010 for episode storyboarding on "Final Curtain."

During its run on Disney XD, episodes were aired out of order, changed time slots several times, and received little promotion, according to Josh Keaton.
