Brianne Howey was born in Pasadena in 1989 and grew up as the eldest of five siblings. She didn't chase fame the quick way through commercial auditions in Los Angeles. She moved to New York to study at the Tisch School of the Arts, where she learned that acting demands a rigorous method.

Her early years in the industry were marked by brief roles in shows like 90210 and The Middle. In 2014, she landed her first significant film role in the comedy Horrible Bosses 2. That experience taught her the pace of big studio productions.

And she did it without making a fuss.

Before landing lead roles, she worked on very different kinds of projects. In 2016, she played Kat Rance in the horror series The Exorcist. It was a physically and emotionally demanding role that moved her away from the light comedy image some casting directors had previously assigned to her.

The Red Platform Phenomenon

The project that brought her global visibility was Ginny & Georgia in 2021. Playing Georgia Miller was a tonal challenge, since the character jumps from maternal drama to criminal thriller within a single scene. The audience responded in huge numbers from the very first weekend.

The series racked up 381 million hours watched in its first 28 days on the platform.

But Howey's work went beyond simply following the script. She brought a specific Southern accent and a physicality reminiscent of classic Hollywood actresses. In 2022, critics began to recognize her ability to carry a series that blends genres so boldly.

The casting was a complete success.

During filming of the second season in 2022, the actress was already one of the most sought-after faces for fashion brands. But she kept a low profile on social media. She prefers the focus to stay on her craft rather than her private life away from the spotlight.

Contracts and Future in the Industry

In 2021, she married Matt Ziering after postponing the wedding because of the worldwide health restrictions. Two years later, in 2023, she announced the birth of their first child. This personal milestone coincided with a period of peak professional demand in her television career.

In May 2023, Netflix confirmed the renewal of its flagship series for a third and fourth season. The production contracts were signed under very strict temporary exclusivity clauses.

Production on the new episodes was scheduled for 2024 in Toronto locations. The budget per episode for the series exceeded $5 million due to the salary increase for the main cast. In 2025, she plans to begin shooting an independent feature film in the United Kingdom.
