Synopsis of Ash vs Evil Dead

Ash Williams has spent roughly thirty years refusing to grow up. He lives in a trailer with his iguana, Eli, and works as a stock clerk at Value Stop, where he shares shifts with Pablo, an idealistic young coworker who looks up to him, and Kelly, the girl Pablo has a crush on. Ash drives an Oldsmobile Delta and is content to live in the shadow of what he did in England in 1300 A.D. But one careless mistake unleashes an evil that threatens to take over the world. Ash will have to pick up his chainsaw again, joined by Pablo, Kelly, and Amanda, a police officer from Michigan, to stop the demons from possessing people. The series, created by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy, airs on Starz.

Trivia about Ash vs Evil Dead

The series began as two competing ideas for a fourth Evil Dead movie. Since the Raimi brothers didn't know how to fund it, it was written as a TV series.

According to Campbell, Starz was the only network that gave them the freedom to make the series without ratings or restrictions.

By the end of season three, viewership had dropped from 437,000 viewers on the same day of season one to around 175,000, not counting DVR.

During the 2016 U.S. presidential election campaign, Starz launched a fictional web campaign called "Ash For President" on YouTube to promote season two.

Due to legal issues with Universal Pictures, the events of Army of Darkness could not be explicitly mentioned in season one.

The soundtrack features several 1970s Deep Purple songs, including "Highway Star," "Space Truckin'," and "Stormbringer."

Production filmed all 30 episodes in Auckland over three years, with a crew of about 300 people and roughly 15 weeks of shooting per season.

The series has won 12 awards and received 18 nominations, according to the IMDb record linked to its profile with the ID tt4189022.
