Vee Delmonico is a high school senior who lives in Staten Island, New York. One day she receives an email from the California Institute of the Arts demanding that she accept or reject her admission that very same day. Vee wants to leave home to study away, but she doesn't dare tell her mother. Her mother hopes her daughter will choose a cheaper local college, which would require her to take the ferry every morning and every afternoon. As Vee weighs her decision, conflict builds between the protagonist's desire for independence, the family's financial pressure and the grief that still hangs over their home. Directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, the main cast includes Emma Roberts, Dave Franco and Juliette Lewis.
