Synopsis of Friday Night Lights

In Dillon, a small rural town in Texas, high school football is much more than a sport: it's the heart of the entire community. Eric Taylor, the new coach of the Panthers, arrives there with his wife, Tami, and their daughter, Julie, hoping to start over. Taylor knows his career depends on leading the team to the state championship, and that if losses keep piling up, his family will no longer be welcome in town. Things get complicated when the team's star, quarterback Jason Street, suffers an injury in the first game of the season. Created by Peter Berg and Brian Grazer, the series airs on NBC and stars Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton.

Trivia about Friday Night Lights

After wrapping filming on the movie, Peter Berg began studying the adaptation of the story for television.
The series was generating about $33 million a year, and other states courted the production company when Texas failed to pay all the promised tax rebates.
The series was filmed on real locations rather than studio sets, and it used hundreds of local residents as extras.
Each scene was shot with three cameras and filmed in a single take, with a documentary-style look.
The character of Jason Street was inspired by David Edwards, a San Antonio player who was left paralyzed during a 2003 game.
The series' Herrmann Field is named after George Herrmann, coach of the Pflugerville Panthers.
After comments about the show's future, fans launched the Save FNL campaign, which raised a total of $15,840 to buy 18,750 footballs.
In the final part of the season, NBC changed strategy and went after female viewers with the tagline "It's about life."
