The World to Come

Somewhere along the border of the American East Coast in the mid-19th century, two neighboring couples struggle with hardship and isolation in an environment that challenges them both physically and psychologically. In northern New York State, in the 1850s, Abigail begins a new year on the rural farm where she lives with her husband Dyer. Spring arrives, and Abigail meets Tallie, an emotionally open and captivatingly beautiful newcomer who rents a neighboring farm with her husband, Finney. The two begin an uncertain relationship, filling a void in their lives that neither knew existed.
