Synopsis of Spider-Noir

Ben Reilly is a worn-out, unlucky private investigator who takes on simple cases in 1930s New York. He was once the city's only superhero, the Spider, but stepped away from that role after a personal tragedy. His life changes when an exceptional case comes along that forces him to suit up again. The action takes place in an alternate world inspired by that era, within Sony's Spider-Man Universe. Nicolas Cage leads the cast, and the series, created by Oren Uziel, streams on MGM+. Reilly is cynical and used to losing, so he will have to confront his past while investigating a job unlike any he has taken before.

Trivia about Spider-Noir

Spider-Noir earned 11 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won five of them in total.
The series was released in two versions, black-and-white and color, marketed as «Authentic Black & White» and «True-Hue Full Color».
Spider-Noir accumulated 851 million minutes viewed between May 25 and May 31, making it the second most-watched original streaming series that week.
Cage refused to sign a release allowing artificial intelligence to be used on the series, as he identifies as an actor who is not a fan of AI.
Filming was temporarily halted by the Southern California wildfires of January 2025, and the crew wrapped in mid-March.
Cage approached his performance as seventy percent Humphrey Bogart and thirty percent Bugs Bunny, convinced that Reilly was «a spider trying to disguise itself as a human».
