Synopsis of The Tick

A city is under threat from crime, and a blue-suited hero arrives to take a stand. He is The Tick, an almost invulnerable superhero who comes to the city with a clear goal: fight crime and uncover the mysterious figure pulling the strings in the local underworld. Along the way, he meets Arthur, a nervous but good-natured young man who ends up becoming his sidekick. Together, they begin to suspect that El Terror, a supervillain everyone believed had been dead for a long time, may still be pulling the strings from the shadows. Peter Serafinowicz stars as the lead, and Griffin Newman plays Arthur. Created by Ben Edlund and airing on Amazon Prime Video, the series brings to television the comic book character that Edlund himself had created.

In 2018, the show's theme music, composed by Chris Bacon, earned an Emmy nomination.

Despite a major campaign from fans and the cast and crew, no other network picked up the series after its cancellation.

It is the second live-action series based on the character that Ben Edlund worked on, after the 2001 series that aired on Fox and was canceled.

The second season earned a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average score of 8.2/10 based on 10 reviews.

In 2018, the series was nominated for a Saturn Award in the category of Best New Media Superhero Series.
