Synopsis of BEEF

Danny Cho is a contractor of Korean descent facing financial trouble. Amy Lau runs a small business. A road rage incident puts the two face to face on a highway in the United States, and neither is willing to let what happened slide. What starts as a clash of bad manners becomes a confrontation that slowly wears both of them down. Both want to be right, and neither gives an inch. Created by Lee Sung Jin for Netflix, this dark comedy series follows these two strangers as they fight over control of a situation that is spiraling out of their hands. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong star as Danny and Amy. The premise rests on a simple question: how far will a person go when they feel disrespected?

«Every couple meets their match.»

Trivia about BEEF

The project was announced in March 2021, and a bidding war broke out over its rights, which Netflix ultimately won.

At the 81th Golden Globe Awards, the series won in all three categories in which it was nominated.

Before arriving on Netflix, the series premiered at the South by Southwest festival on March 18, 2023.

The score for the first season was composed by Bobby Krlic, and the second season is handled by Finneas O'Connell.

The cast of the second season will include Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny, with Youn Yuh-jung and Song Kang-ho also taking part, and filming partly done in South Korea.

The first season won eight Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
