After Life

After Life follows Tony Johnson, a reporter on the investigations desk of the local newspaper Tambury Gazette, in the fictional town of Tambury. Tony sinks into despair when his wife, Lisa, dies of breast cancer. He considers taking his own life but decides to keep living to punish the world for her death, saying and doing whatever he pleases, regardless of how others feel. He sees it as his superpower. The series is created, produced, written and directed by Ricky Gervais, who also stars in it, and it airs on Netflix. The cast includes Tom Basden as Matt, Tony's brother-in-law and the newspaper's editor, and Kerry Godliman as Lisa, seen in flashbacks and home videos.
