What Season 1 of After Life

After Life begins when Tony Johnson, a reporter at the local Tambury Gazette, loses his wife, Lisa, to breast cancer. Devastated, he considers taking his own life but decides to keep living in order to punish the world. His new weapon is saying and doing whatever he feels like, regardless of how others react, which he considers a superpower. His dark mood starts to affect his coworkers, and his brother-in-law Matt, who also runs the paper, tries to support him. Meanwhile, the newsroom welcomes a new writer. Lisa appears in flashbacks and home videos, and Ricky Gervais, the creator and star, brings Tony to life.
