Synopsis of The Affair
Noah Solloway is a high school teacher and novelist in New York. He is married to Helen, with whom he has four children, and he is uncomfortable depending financially on his father-in-law, a successful writer. During a vacation in Montauk, a tourist town on Long Island, he meets Alison Bailey, a waitress trying to rebuild her life after a tragedy. The attraction between them is immediate. Created by Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi for Showtime, the series examines the emotional effects of an extramarital affair on the people involved. Dominic West and Ruth Wilson play Noah and Alison. Many episodes are split into two halves, each told from the point of view of a different character.
