Synopsis of CSI: Vegas

In Las Vegas, an existential threat puts the city's Crime Lab at risk. Leading the investigation is Maxine "Max" Roby, the lab's head, who works alongside Josh Folsom, a level III CSI who often runs cases, and Allie Rajan, a newly promoted investigator who came to Sin City from abroad chasing her dreams. Their job is to protect the lab and deliver justice in the city, while the team welcomes veterans of the CSI franchise and applies new forensic techniques. The series is a sequel to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, developed by Jason Tracey and aired on CBS.

Trivia about CSI: Vegas

CBS set the premiere for October 6, 2021, to coincide with the 21st anniversary of the original series, after the pandemic delayed the original plan.

Telecinco, which had aired the original series between 2002 and 2014, premiered it on free-to-air television in Spain on August 1, 2022, after the show had already been seen on the pay channel Fox.

The series was originally announced as a single-season miniseries epilogue, but CBS later renewed it for a second season.

William Petersen left the cast at the end of the first season, but he stayed involved with the series behind the scenes as an executive producer.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the first season has a 77% positive critic score based on 13 reviews, with a consensus saying fans will feel right at home with the familiar CSI formula.

CBS canceled «CSI: Vegas» in April 2024 after three seasons, and the episode that aired on May 19, 2024 served as the series finale.

The third season had ten episodes and premiered on February 18, 2024, with a change in broadcast schedule from Thursdays to Sundays.
