Synopsis of The Bondsman

Hub Halloran is a bounty hunter from the forests of the American heartland who was murdered. Now he returns from the dead thanks to the devil, who gives him a specific mission: hunt down the demons that have escaped from hell's prison. To complete it, Hub must rely on a fractured family, whose help comes with as many obstacles as solutions. Meanwhile, this new chance offers him something he didn't expect: the possibility of winning back love and a country music career he had nearly forgotten. The trade he knew has changed, and now hunting has a demonic twist. The series, created by Grainger David and starring Kevin Bacon, streams on Prime Video.

Trivia about The Bondsman

The series was canceled in May 2025 after a single season, which premiered on April 3 of that same year.

In April 2025, it was confirmed that Kathrine Barnes, Mike Kaye, and Jay Ali had joined the cast.

The series earned a 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 29 reviews, and a score of 57 out of 100 on Metacritic.

Erik Oleson serves as showrunner and produces alongside Paul Shapiro for the production company CrimeThink.

Filming took place in Grantville, Georgia, during April 2024, with locations tied to Raleigh Studios in Senoia, the former set of "The Walking Dead."

The premiere drew 563 million minutes viewed in the United States and ranked ninth among original streaming series in Nielsen's charts between March 31 and April 6, 2025, but it later dropped off the chart.

Erik Oleson explained that Blumhouse had acquired the original script from Grainger David and turned it into a series after Kevin Bacon had already expressed interest in starring in it.

Stunt coordinator James Hutchinson shared that Kevin Bacon refused to perform a specific stunt during filming and detailed the work needed for a scene with bees.
