Synopsis of The Artful Dodger

In Australia in 1850, Jack Dawkins works as a young, well-respected doctor in Port Victoria, after having served as a surgeon in the Royal Navy. His quiet life is turned upside down when Norbert Fagin, an old acquaintance, reappears and forces him to remember his miserable childhood in London, when he was known as the Artful Dodger and picked pockets. Jack tries not to return to a life of crime, but he grows fond of Lady Belle Fox, the governor's daughter, who aspires to become a surgeon. Created by James McNamara, David Maher and David Taylor, the series follows Jack's efforts to rebuild his life in the colony as his past and outside pressures threaten to drag him back into crime. Thomas Brodie-Sangster, David Thewlis and Maia Mitchell lead the Disney+ cast.
