Synopsis of Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders is a crime drama series created by Steven Knight and broadcast on BBC Two, starring Cillian Murphy. Set in Birmingham shortly after the end of World War I, it follows the Shelbys, a family of mixed Irish and Romani origin who run a gang known as the Peaky Blinders and a betting shop. Their leader, Tommy Shelby, is an ambitious and shrewd man who wants to expand the business and consolidate his power in the city. However, their activities attract the attention of Chief Inspector Chester Campbell, a Royal Irish Constabulary detective sent from Belfast with the mission of cleaning up Birmingham and bringing down the gang. Tommy thus faces an official enemy who is just as determined to defeat him as he is to press on.

Sam Neill, born in Northern Ireland and raised in New Zealand, asked James Nesbitt and Liam Neeson for help recovering his accent for the role of Campbell.
It was confirmed that Bowie's music would appear in the series and that Leonard Cohen had written a new song for the third season.
The first four seasons were filmed at North Light Film Studios in Huddersfield, a studio located on the outskirts of Leeds.
Filming for the third season lasted 78 days and wrapped on January 22, 2016.
In January 2014, auditions were held in Digbeth, Birmingham, to hire teenage extras, and very long lines formed.
Graham Stevenson lamented that the series' historical consultant was an expert in Tudor history rather than someone trained in trade unionism or communism.
The television sequel to "Peaky Blinders" will consist of two seasons of six one-hour episodes, with Jamie Bell as Duke Shelby and Charlie Heaton in another leading role. It will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the United Kingdom and on Netflix worldwide, though no date has been announced yet.
