Synopsis of Doom Patrol

Doom Patrol brings together in a mansion a group of unlikely heroes who gained their powers after terrible tragedies and who are, for the most part, rejected by society. Most of them are cared for by the Chief, a doctor who offers them a home behind his walls to shield them from the outside world. Among the first members introduced are Jane, the dominant identity of a woman with dissociative identity disorder; Rita Farr, a former Hollywood actress who struggles not to turn into a gelatinous mass; Larry Trainor, who has a negative energy entity inside his body; and Cliff Steele, whose brain ended up in a robotic body after a car accident. Set on Earth-21, the series, created by Jeremy Carver and aired on DC Universe, follows these outcasts as they try to live with their wounds and in a world that won't accept them.

Trivia about Doom Patrol

Doom Patrol started out as a planned spin-off of Titans. In 2018, Geoff Johns announced that the fourth episode of Titans would bear the team's name and introduce it.

The second season was supposed to have ten episodes, but the COVID-19 pandemic halted production before the tenth was completed, so it ended up with nine.

In the United Kingdom, the first season premiered exclusively on StarzPlay on January 2, 2020, months after its U.S. premiere.

Brendan Fraser voices Cliff Steele, while Riley Shanahan plays the character physically as Robotman, taking over the role previously held by Michaels.

Principal photography for the first season continued in Georgia during September 2018, in Lawrenceville and at Briarcliff Mansion.

Jesse Schedeen of IGN gave the series premiere a 9.0 out of 10 and praised its "wicked" humor and the cast.

The fourth and final season earned a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with 12 reviews and an average score of 7.5/10.

Abigail Shapiro explained that Dorothy Spinner's prosthetics initially took about three hours to apply, although the team eventually cut the process down to one hour and 45 minutes in the final episode of the second season.
