Trivia about The Winchesters

The premiere of The Winchesters was the most-watched series debut of The CW's 2022-23 season, and also the most-watched season premiere on the network.

In August 2023, a crew member sued the production company, The CW and Warner Bros. for failing to follow safety measures during a thunderstorm.

The day after it became known that no one wanted to pick up the series, Ackles blamed the failure on the network switch and the 2023 writers' strike.

Rotten Tomatoes reports 100% positive reviews from 8 critics, while Metacritic gives it 49 out of 100 based on 6 critics.

In August 2022, it was confirmed that Jensen Ackles, the show's narrator, would return as Dean in a physical appearance in the first episode.

The series is produced by Jensen Ackles, his wife Danneel Ackles, who played Anael on Supernatural, and Robbie Thompson, a writer on Supernatural.

The CW canceled The Winchesters after one season in May 2023; Warner Bros. Television later exhausted its options to move the show to another network or platform, so it will not get a second season.

Robbie Thompson had already written the opening of a possible second season before it became known that the first would have 13 episodes, though he designed the finale so that it works without leaving the story unfinished.
