Jacqueline Obradors was born in Los Angeles in 1966. Her parents were Argentine immigrants who ran an office cleaning business in California. Before stepping onto a set, she worked as a cashier at a Hughes supermarket and saved every dollar to pay for acting classes.
Her first real break came in 1995 with the series Live Shot. But the world took notice of her three years later. In 1998, she played Angelica in Six Days Seven Nights alongside Harrison Ford. That production, with a budget of $70 million, put her on the radar of major studios almost overnight.
That was no stroke of luck.
She accepted roles in Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo and in the comedy Tortilla Soup in 2001. In the latter film, she played one of three daughters of a widowed chef. The script steered clear of the usual clichés about Hispanic families in the United States, and that is what convinced her to sign the contract.
Financial stability came with ABC. In 2001, she joined the cast of NYPD Blue to play Detective Rita Ortiz. She appeared in 80 episodes through 2005. That period taught her the frantic pace of network television, where ten pages of script are shot in a single morning.
And the gamble paid off.
She balanced television with raw action films. In 2003, she shot Diablo with Vin Diesel. Critics were harsh on the film for its violence, but it performed well at the domestic box office. Obradors played the lead's wife (her death drove the entire revenge plot).
Disney called her in 2001 for an ambitious animated project. She voiced Audrey Ramirez in Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Her character's design broke the mold, as she was a young, determined mechanic who wasn't looking for any prince. The film grossed $186 million worldwide.
As the decade changed, roles in mainstream film became scarcer. But she found a solid niche in digital streaming productions. In 2019, she joined the cast of Mayans M.C. as Marisol Galindo. The FX series aired until 2023 and gave her the chance to work in an adult crime drama setting.
She appeared in Daisy Jones & The Six in 2023. The Amazon Prime Video miniseries adapted a literary hit about a 1970s rock band. Obradors played Lucia. Her screen presence remained magnetic despite years away from the big screen.
His net worth is estimated at 5 million dollars.
In 2024, she joined the cast of the third season of The Cleaning Lady for Fox. Her character, Teresa, was filmed entirely at the Albuquerque studios. Her contract included an exclusivity clause for broadcast television during the first half of that year.
