Synopsis of Snowpiercer

Seven years after the planet was covered in ice, the last survivors of humanity travel aboard the Snowpiercer, a train of 1001 cars that circles the globe without stopping. Its creator, billionaire Wilford, left behind a rigid class system: well-off passengers occupy the front cars, while those in the back survive on the bare minimum and keep the machinery running. Daveed Diggs plays Andre Layton, a former detective who leads the passengers in the back, and Jennifer Connelly stars as Melanie Cavill, the train's head of hospitality. Created by Graeme Manson and Josh Friedman and aired on TNT, the series focuses on the clash between these two worlds, the unequal distribution of scarce resources, and the revolution brewing in the poorest part of the train.

Trivia about Snowpiercer

In September 2019, the decision to switch networks was reversed, after TBS, TNT's sister channel, had been announced as the series' new home.
Rotten Tomatoes collected 74 reviews, marked 62% of them as positive, and gave it an average rating of 6.37/10.
The new pilot reshoots, directed by James Hawes, were filmed in Vancouver between August 20, 2018 and January 24, 2019.
In March 2024, it was announced that AMC had acquired the fourth and final season, after the show stopped airing on TNT.
Rowan Blanchard joined in March 2019 as a guest role, with the option of moving to the main cast if the series was renewed.
The fourth season added Clark Gregg, known for «Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.», and Tony winner Michael Aronov, in roles that were not initially revealed.
Production on the fourth season was temporarily suspended after high temperatures caused several cases of heat exhaustion among the crew.
«Snowpiercer» won ten awards and received 34 nominations, including a Primetime Emmy nomination.
