Synopsis of The Man in the High Castle

The United States has been split into three zones after Germany and Japan won World War II. It is 1962 in an alternate world: the Greater Reich dominates the East Coast, the Pacific States control the West Coast, and a neutral zone occupies the Rocky Mountains. Juliana Crain, a woman from San Francisco living under Japanese rule, receives a roll of film from her half sister Trudy showing a history in which the Allies won. When the Kempeitai murder Trudy, Juliana gets involved with the resistance. Joe Blake, a resistance fighter, carries a mysterious cargo toward the neutral zone, while John Smith investigates the rebels in New York. Nobusuke Tagomi, the minister of trade, and Takeshi Kido, the Kempeitai chief inspector, round out a group of celebrities whose paths cross. The series explores what happens when images from another world begin to question the reality everyone accepts.

Trivia about The Man in the High Castle

In February 2013, Syfy announced it would adapt the novel as a four-part miniseries, with Ridley Scott and Frank Spotnitz serving as executive producers.
According to sources at the company, the pilot episode was the most-watched of all the series produced by Amazon so far.
To promote the first season, a New York City subway car was covered in Nazi and Imperial Japanese imagery, just as it appears in the show.
Roslyn, Washington, had long been the filming location for Northern Exposure, and exteriors of the Roslyn Cafe were shot there for the pilot.
Eric Overmyer replaced Frank Spotnitz as executive producer for the third season, after Spotnitz's sudden departure in the middle of the second season.
In February 2019, Amazon announced that the fourth season would be the last, even though production was already underway, and said it would premiere in the fall of that year.
The series earned ten nominations and two Emmy Awards, according to the Television Academy's records.
The fourth and final season premiered on November 15, 2019; filming took place in Vancouver and wrapped the previous month.
