Synopsis of Victoria
Victoria is 18 years old when she ascends the throne of the United Kingdom in 1837. Young and inexperienced in government, she must learn to reign while British public opinion watches her every move. Her closest circle is made up of courtiers and advisers who don't always share her views. Among them stands out Lord Melbourne, played by Rufus Sewell, the prime minister who becomes her main adviser and guides her through the early years of her reign. Created by Daisy Goodwin, the series airs on ITV and stars Jenna Coleman. Victoria wants to prove she can govern on her own, but the pressure of the court and the country tests her from the very start.
